What inspires me to become a Lawyer:

-Adv Amar S. Deshmukh, Managing Partner, TruLex Legal

When I decided to pursue a career in law back in 1996, it was not as lucrative option as it is today. At that time, the legal profession was not considered particularly rewarding, and the gestation period for establishing a decent practice ranged from five to ten years. The number of skilled young lawyers were relatively few, and career opportunities in the legal field were limited/ traditional. Moreover, junior lawyers were often not paid a reasonable stipend, making it difficult to sustain themselves independently.

Despite these challenges, I was confident that law is a profession that would provide intellectual stimulation, a sense of justice, and an opportunity to serve society. Unlike many other careers, law is deeply intertwined with the fabric of society, making it both challenging and uniquely rewarding.

After completing my apprenticeship under Advocate Satish Amrutkar, I had the opportunity to work in the corporate sector, which marked a turning point in my career. From that moment onward, I never looked back. Over the years, I served as a legal advisor to multinational corporations across various industries, including international real estate consultancy firms, multinational telecom companies, and large infrastructure enterprises—both listed and non-listed. Through dedication and perseverance, I rose to the senior leadership positions within 15 years.

Having built a strong professional network, I joined TruLex, one of India’s most trusted law firms, as Managing Partner in 2016. My prior experience and industry relationships played a pivotal role in expanding our firm’s reach, allowing us to onboard large corporates, both listed and non-listed, as valued clients. Today, TruLex has grown exponentially, with its headquarter in Pune and a strong client base and presence in Mumbai, Gurgaon, New Delhi, Bangalore, Kolkata, and Lucknow.

Looking ahead, I am confident that by 2030, TruLex will have a substantial presence not only in all major metropolitan cities across India but also in the United States, Europe, and the Middle East.

Friends, law is a constantly evolving field that requires professionals to stay updated with new legislation, judicial precedents, and global developments. The ability to analyse complex situations, interpret laws, and craft persuasive arguments demands sharp critical thinking and problem-solving skills. It gives a sense of satisfaction almost ‘everyday’. Isn’t that a compelling reason to choose law as a ‘passion’ and ‘profession’?

Always remember that ethics, integrity, dedication, and trust are invaluable virtues without any ‘price tag’. These qualities form the cornerstone of TruLex’s foundation. As an organization, we are committed to being an equal opportunity provider, ensuring that we do not discriminate based on gender, caste, religion, language, nationality, or ethnicity. This commitment to inclusivity is what allows us to proudly stand distinctively above the rest.
